The Family Center in Sisimiut is seeking 2 in-home support workers to assist families with the reintegration of placed children, provide emergency assistance, guidance, and early intervention. Requirements include a social worker or educator with a multidisciplinary collaboration environment and bilingual proficiency in Greenlandic and Danish.

The Family Center in Sisimiut is looking for in-home support workers who can start on February 1, 2026, or by agreement.
About the Job/Family Center:
The Family Center in Qeqqata Municipality primarily deals with trauma from incidents such as sexual abuse, violence, neglect, and suicide. The Family Center's task is to ensure that families are supported and helped forward after such incidents. Additionally, the Family Center also has preventive measures, supporting families from pregnancy onwards. Current staff includes 2 environmental workers, a social educator, 1 in-home support worker, a family guidance coordinator, a social worker, a coordinator/early intervention in Manu, and a manager. To strengthen the Family Center's goal of being a multidisciplinary, treatment-oriented center, we are seeking a family guidance coordinator for the team.
Special case management has been initiated at the Family Center, with measures started for children being reintegrated after placement outside the home and avoiding placement outside the home, hence we are seeking 2 in-home support workers.
The tasks of the in-home support worker at the Family Center are as follows:

Support families with the reintegration of placed children.

Emergency assistance for families at risk of having their children placed outside the home.

Families needing help with child-rearing.

Guide families to a better life.

Early intervention based on the needs of children and young people.

Participation in assistance after loss.

Participation in open counseling.
We emphasize:

Trained as a social worker or further education in family guidance, or trained as an educator.

Welcoming and able to establish a trusting contact with those who come to the Family Center.

Values a multidisciplinary collaborative environment where different perspectives are considered.

Able to work independently and in teams.

Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.
Salary and Employment Conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are generally in accordance with the agreement between Qeqqata Municipality and the negotiating organization.
This position is subject to the law requiring a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the Municipality has obtained a child certificate.
The child certificate will be part of the municipality's assessment of who is hired for the position.
Commencement as soon as possible or by agreement.
Housing can be provided for the position, for which payment is made according to applicable regulations.
