The Department for Welfare and Labor Market is seeking a motivated consultant for quality assurance and supervision of residential services for adults and the elderly. Tasks are carried out both at the facilities and at the office in Nuuk. The position requires travel and involves responsibility for planning and conducting inspections as well as dialogue with management.
The Administration for Welfare and the Labor Market is seeking a motivated and professionally skilled consultant for quality assurance and supervision of our residential services for adults and elderly citizens.
We offer exciting tasks in a good professional and social environment. We emphasize professionalism and meaning in the work. Therefore, there is room to share your views, discuss both the task and the overarching perspectives, or deepen your professional knowledge together with a colleague. As part of the Staff in the Department for Welfare and Labor Market, you will gain insight into a politically governed organization and work closely with the head of staff and the department heads.
About the task
Our internal supervision must ensure the quality of the municipality's own residential facilities for adults and the elderly. We emphasize that the ambition is learning and development, so our offerings improve over time. Therefore, it is important to establish a good dialogue with the institutions about quality in the services, with respect for the work being done. The task is carried out partly at the residential facilities involving leaders, employees, and residents of the facilities, and partly with preparation, reporting, and follow-up at the office in Nuuk.
You will become part of the staff in the administration, where you will have about 10 engaged and skilled colleagues who, with different expertise, solve the administration's cross-cutting and management-related tasks. In the staff, work well-being and collaboration are highly prioritized.
The content of the position
As a quality and inspection consultant, you will be responsible for:
Planning of approximately 20 annual operations-oriented inspections distributed across the entire geography of the municipality.
·Supervision from state to end: Preparation, implementation (including interviews, observations, and document review) as well as reporting and dialogue with management
·Consultation with the administration's units in connection with supervision
In addition, you will be involved in the department's other tasks as needed.
You should expect travel activity, as the position involves supervision of our residential services in Nuuk, Paamiut, Tasiilaq, Qeqertarsuatsiaat, and Ittoqqortoormiit. Each service must be supervised once a year. The position is located in Nuuk.
Structure and planning are important for succeeding in the position. Additionally, there is a need for a versatile employee who thrives on different types of tasks and is not afraid to take on something new.
We have established supervision concepts in the disability sector and in the elderly sector, but there will be good opportunities to influence the work with your expertise.
Expectations for applicants:
·That you have a relevant educational background as a social educator, social worker, or educator possibly with further qualifications.
Having experience in the field – residential care for the disabled or residential care for the elderly – is an advantage.
That you communicate clearly and distinctly both in writing and verbally.
Being bilingual (Greenlandic/Danish) is an advantage, but not a requirement.
·That you are able to work independently and in a structured manner
·That you are welcoming and meet others at eye level
That you can take responsibility for the task.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We therefore want to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
