Student Assistant for Disability Rights Work

About Tilioq

The disability advocacy institution Tilioq in Sisimiut is looking for a student assistant who will help develop and shape the disability sector based on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

We are a small workplace consisting of the disability representative, a secretariat leader, 1 project employee, and 2 citizen advisors. We have a good collegial camaraderie with high spirits and close collaboration across tasks, projects, and our different professional fields. Therefore, we also hope that you are interested in being part of the social community at the workplace.

About the position

You can expect a student job where you will work on a project basis and participate in our municipal course project, Ilimmarsaaneq, and create a network for both Tilioq and yourself, as well as be involved in the coordination and implementation of rights.

At Tilioq, we often have several projects going on at the same time, and new tasks arise continuously in line with the political developments in the disability sector, which means your tasks will also be very diverse. Because we are a small secretariat, you will also help shape the workplace and have a significant influence on the work we do and how we create development in the disability area.

  • Your primary tasks will be: Participate in the planning and execution of Tilioq's municipal course project
  • Participate in the planning and execution of Tilioq's seminar and conference, which this year will take place in Ilulissat.
  • Write text for press releases, brochures, reports, informational material
  • Contribute to conveying Tilioq's messages on social media.

Your qualifications/background

You are interested in social and political work, and have an interest in rights work.

You are used to working analytically, theoretically, and project-oriented, and you can work with larger amounts of data and material, and communicate it. You enjoy writing or creating content for social media.

You thrive in a lively, social workplace where every day can change and new tasks can arise, in collaboration with your colleagues.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
