Teachers for Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia

We are looking for skilled teachers for Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia. The teacher we are seeking must have the courage to engage in a developing school and have an interest in teaching children with special needs in a special department. We are in the midst of a generational shift and have a teaching staff of experienced and new teachers who teach each other skills to create a good school.

Our students make good use of the school's facilities as well as the nature in the surrounding area, go on excursions in nature, work on projects, and similar activities. Therefore, we are looking for 2 teachers to take care of the teaching, and it is part of the job to prepare students for the final exams for students with special needs. We work together and seek development in our collaboration.

We are looking for 2 language teachers for the upper grades who can teach a wide range of subjects, particularly language and culture subjects as well as other subjects. The students in the upper grades are prepared for final exams.

We are looking for 2 teachers for the middle grades who can teach languages, mathematics, and cultural subjects.

Minngortuunnguup Atuarfia is staffed with 60 teachers and has about 400 students, 20 classes ranging from 1st to 10th grade, and 16 special classes, divided into 2 departments.

The teacher's expected duties:

• Planning and execution of the teaching.
• Willing to collaborate in the teaching team.
• Is open to new teaching methods in collaboration with colleagues.
• Is willing to learn to work and teach with iPad.
• The evaluation should be based on the student's own action plan, which the teacher prepares.
• Ongoing evaluation of the annual plans and each student's benefit from the teaching.
• Participate in the development of the staff and the school.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings, are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force at any given time between the Government of Greenland and the teachers' organization IMAK. Employment is primarily based on collective agreement terms.

Duration: Full-time position

Start date: June 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Salary: According to agreement
