Instructor

Majoriaq is seeking an instructor in Sisimiut with Greenlandic as the main subject, and Danish or English as secondary. Teaching citizens to achieve a diploma and further education. Experience in adult education and IT knowledge is an advantage. Employment from August 1, 2026, or by agreement.

Since Majoriaq Sisimiut is a workplace for guidance and has a qualification program for adults, it is a great advantage that you are a trained teacher specialized in one of the subjects Greenlandic, Danish, or English. We would like you to have experience or education in adult education.

  • You are a trained teacher with a major in one of the mentioned languages or have another relevant higher education degree.
  • Can teach Greenlandic, and preferably Danish and/or English at the primary school admission level.
  • You should be eager to work with project-oriented teaching, so that the students at Majoriaq experience the education as meaningful and present.
  • Has good language skills both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in IT at the user level and preferably familiar with iPads as a teaching tool.
  • You have teaching experience for adults and from similar positions.
  • You have the drive and desire to make a difference for the citizens and to leave your mark on the school's development.

Planning of teaching courses and instruction takes place in close collaboration with the center leader and the school's other teachers, and it requires that you are good at:

  •  To collaborate
  • Independent and structured
  • To think innovatively and be creative, and to be solution-oriented.
  • That you have an understanding of people with special needs.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

 

Housing can be allocated for which payment is made according to applicable rules.

 

Child certificate

Positions are covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has obtained a child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal record, which must be submitted with the job application, and a child certificate will be obtained by Qeqqata Municipality.

 

Commencement on August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
