Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen assistant for Pilersitsivik in Maniitsoq. Offer for young people who have not progressed in work or education. Work areas include support for youth, ensuring well-being, and compliance with rules. Requires training as a social helper or experience in the field. Start date August 1, 2026.

The program at Pilersitsivik is an offer to young people who, for some reason, have not progressed in work or education, to be motivated to find stable employment or to start an educational course.

The kitchen staff consists of 1 teacher and 1 assistant, who work full-time.

 

The primary areas of work and responsibility will be:

  • To support young people who have stalled after primary school to enter the workforce or pursue an education.
  • Ensure that there is good well-being at Pilersitsivik.
  • Ensure that the youth adhere to Pilersitsivik's rules of order.

 

The qualifications required are:

  • You have an education as a social helper, food helper, or several years of experience in a similar field.
  • You have experience working with young people aged 15-29.
  • You are fond of young people.
  • You have a good collaboration with parents.
  • You are stable, responsible, and can work independently.

 

Our requirements for the applicant are:

  • That you have experience working with young people.
  • That you have experience from working in a kitchen and/or similar.
  • That you are physically and mentally capable.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the agreements in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and SIK.

 

No housing is provided.

 

Criminal record

Employment is subject to a satisfactory child and criminal record check, which will be obtained by Qeqqata Municipality.

 

Commencement on August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
