Social Worker/Case Officer for the Disability Sector

About the position

The position is anchored in the Authority Area for the Elderly and Disabilities, where you will be part of a professional team that works with both the disability sector and assessments in the disability and elderly areas. The work includes case management, assessments, follow-up, and counseling in accordance with applicable legislation and quality standards.

You will primarily have tasks within the disability area, but at the same time participate in the interdisciplinary collaboration regarding assessment and authority tasks in the elderly sector. We help each other across areas to ensure a holistic and coherent effort for the citizens.

The position is located in Sisimiut and is part of the service for the entire Qeqqata Municipality.

Expectations of you:

Knowledge of legislation in the social sector, especially in the area of disabilities.

Experience working with citizens with disabilities.

Experience with network and treatment meetings.

The ability to maintain an overview in challenging situations.

Independence and responsibility in work.

Professional qualifications:

·Educated social worker or other relevant education within health or social professions

·Stable, quality-conscious, and detail-oriented.

·Positive and welcoming attitude.

Ability to work focused and prioritize in a hectic everyday life.

Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal.

Independence and responsibility in the work.

Good at interdisciplinary collaboration.

Bilingual (Greenlandic and Danish) applicants are preferred.

Criminal record and child certificate:

The position requires obtaining a criminal record and a child certificate. Employment can only take place once the municipality has received the relevant certificates.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are agreed upon in accordance with the collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, AK, or another relevant organization. The employment includes a 3-month probation period. Housing is provided according to applicable rules, and free travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, is granted after at least 3 years of employment.
