Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is seeking a consultant for office tasks in Tasiilaq. Tasks include invoice coding, budget follow-up, and accounting advice. We expect a financial background and knowledge of IRIS. Greenlandic language skills are an advantage. Salary and employment conditions follow the applicable agreement.

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is looking for a consultant for the office. About Princess Margrethe's Children's Home: Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is located in Tasiilaq on Greenland's east coast and is a residential institution operated by the Self-Government, the Social Authority. The Residential and Admission Department is the responsible operator.

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home consists of two children and youth departments, a satellite Nasippi, and the associated daycare Qaaliaaq.

The two departments are staffed with nine in the Small group and nine in the Large group, aged 3 to 14 years. They are primarily children from Tasiilaq and surrounding settlements.

Children may have social and emotional challenges; they have a great need for care, structure, and stable adult contact.

Nasippi is a 24-hour department for six adults with physical and mental disabilities who are partially self-sufficient. There is a sheltered workshop, Qaaliaaq, associated with the disability satellite, where residents have the opportunity to engage in protected and paid employment. In the workshop, social interaction is prioritized, and the users create handicrafts.

Princess Margrethe's children's home has a small house in a deserted village, boats, a mini hall, and snowmobiles. This provides the opportunity to create good activities with and for the children.

Tasiilaq is incredibly scenic and invites many wonderful nature experiences, hunting, and fishing year-round. In the town, there is, among other things, a hall with a fitness center, a new outdoor football field, a ski slope with a lift, a school with childcare services, a leisure club for older children, daycare centers, and several grocery stores.

  • You will have the following tasks: Coding of invoices in IRIS
  • Monthly and annual votes
  • Advice to the principal regarding accounting
  • Booking of travel and accommodation
  • Settings for hiring/terminations for staff
  • Budget follow-up
  • Review of status accounts
  • Preparation of accounting instructions, inventory lists
  • Issue travel reimbursements
  • Preparation of hourly and monthly salaries
  • Payment of clothes and pocket money
  • Ad-hoc tasks
  • We expect you to have: A relevant financial/accounting background
  • Knowledge of IRIS, as well as Management information
  • Desire to take independent responsibility in solving the institution's tasks
  • Desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment where individuals contribute to holistic solutions.
  • Good mood, enthusiasm, and humor
  • The Greenlandic language

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment with the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
