Avannaata Municipality is seeking a department head for the nursing home in Qaanaaq, with the position to be filled on April 1, 2026, or by further agreement.

As the manager of the nursing home in Qaanaaq, you will be responsible for the operation of the nursing home and the staff, with the Department Head of the Family Department in Qaanaaq being your immediate supervisor.

Work and responsibility area:

  • Responsible for the daily operations.
  • The leader is at all times responsible for administration, care, activities, and the service area.
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate activities are offered to each resident.
  • Foster engagement and enthusiasm among employees, residents, and relatives.
  • Ensure that the interdisciplinary collaboration has optimal conditions.
  • The responsibility for hygiene standards is top-notch and the food is inviting and nutritious.

Qualifications:

  • Trained as a nurse, health assistant, or social and health assistant.
  • You have good interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
  • You are proactive and can work purposefully.
  • You have impact.
  • You are flexible and attentive.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the currently authorized negotiating trade union.

Housing can be provided for the position.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory criminal record and child protection certificate. These will be obtained by the hiring authority with the employee's written consent, after which the hiring authority will request them from the National Police.
