At Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, we are in the midst of an ambitious development of the Department for Disability & Social Psychiatry. We are looking for an engaged operations manager who wants to work closely with daily operations while also contributing to strengthening coherence, quality, and management support across our services.

As an operations manager, you will be an important link between the strategic direction and the concrete everyday life in our units. You report directly to the department head, who has the overall management responsibility and makes the formal management decisions. Your role is to support this management space through close collaboration with the department head, consultants, managers, deputy managers, and employees.

You will work across the entire area, from residential offers and housing collectives to activity and social offers, respite services, and support teams. The area is characterized by diverse target groups and complex tasks, where there is a need for coordination, professional reflection, and a practice-oriented approach to support operations.

Your role is characterized by being close to operations. You contribute to creating structure, overview, and coherence in everyday life and act as an accessible sparring partner for managers, deputy managers, and employees. You support follow-up on initiatives, contribute to the implementation of new measures, and help ensure that decisions are anchored in practice. In situations where there is a need, you can step in and support operations, but always in close dialogue with and on behalf of the responsible management in the department.

  • Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

About us:

Disability and Social Psychiatry consists of eight residential units, eight housing collectives, two activity and socializing offers, one respite care offer, one competency development center, and three support teams distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut. We work purposefully to strengthen leadership, professionalism, and collaboration – both locally and across different areas.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

A staff housing option can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date depends on when a staff accommodation becomes available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
