The Department for Development, Health Promotion, and Prevention works purposefully to ensure that health promotion and prevention are not just seen as isolated efforts, but are considered a natural and integrated part of everyday life in, among other places, schools and daycare institutions.
About the position:
Our health and prevention consultants are tasked with supporting the child-focused staff in health promotion and preventive work. The topics are wide-ranging and include, among others, mental health, bullying prevention, sexual health, nutrition and physical activity, and substance abuse prevention.
To ensure a team with diverse professional profiles and competencies, we are looking for a candidate with a health-related background, who preferably has knowledge of diet and nutrition. In the position, the Health and Prevention Consultant will, in close collaboration with schools, daycare facilities, and clubs, plan, implement, and evaluate programs, teaching, and presentations that match the needs and challenges faced by the individual areas. Presentations and programs will primarily be aimed at staff working with children, but can also target children, youth, and parent groups, and can take place across cities and communities or in a single class.
The position involves a fair amount of travel to the municipality's towns and settlements outside of Nuuk.

We do not expect you to already have knowledge and experience in health promotion and prevention, but that you have an understanding and interest in one or more of the areas. You should be eager to acquire new knowledge and convey this knowledge to different target groups in an engaging and lively manner – even on difficult topics.

Wants to travel outside Nuuk to the municipality's other towns and settlements for up to 2 weeks 2-3 times a year.

About the department:
Department for Development, Health Promotion, and Prevention is part of the Administration for Children and Schools.
The department consists of a Development Manager, 3 Health and Prevention Consultants, and a Professional Leader. In daily task resolution, the prevention consultants and project coordinator work closely with the administration's AC employees and Department Heads in the areas of school, daycare, and culture and leisure. The immediate supervisor is the Development Manager.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
