Utoqqaat Illuat is a nursing home under the Municipality of Sermersooq with 47 residents. The kitchen produces nutritious and tasty meals daily for the nursing home residents as well as food for home-dwelling citizens through the municipality's meal delivery service.

We are looking for a skilled employee for our kitchen team. You will be part of the daily production and development of the kitchen in close collaboration with the kitchen manager and the other employees.

The position is 40 hours a week with working hours according to the current shift schedule.

We are looking for an employee with one of the following qualifications:

• Cook
• Nutrition assistant
• Baker
• Cater

Other relevant food professional education with experience from large kitchens or institutional kitchens.

You will among other things work with:

• Production of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
• Preparation of nutritious and tasty meals
• Production of special diets and diets
• Baking bread and other baked goods as needed
• Production of food for residents living at home
• Menu planning in collaboration with the kitchen manager
• Receiving and inspection of goods
• Compliance with self-monitoring, HACCP, and food hygiene
• Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment
• Contribute to the reduction of food waste
• Participation in the development of kitchen quality

• Has a relevant professional education in the kitchen or food sector.
• Preferably has experience from large kitchens, institutional kitchens, or similar.
• Has an interest in nutrition and food for the elderly
• Works independently and in a structured manner
• Is responsible, flexible, and punctual.
• Has good collaboration skills
• Is quality-conscious and service-oriented
• Contributes positively to a good working environment
• Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the procurement of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
