Social Pedagogical Mentor

Center for Counseling and Family Treatment is seeking two social pedagogical mentors to enhance well-being and development for children, youth, and their families. About the position:

We are looking for two social pedagogical mentors who are passionate about making a difference for families in need of support. As a social pedagogical mentor, you will be a central part of the department's work to develop and implement initiatives that strengthen families' coping skills and support children's well-being.

Your workplace will be in the Department for Families and Supportive Interventions. The department offers support to families who need help closely in their daily lives. The interventions often take place at home or in the family's local environment and focus on strengthening the family's own resources.

In the department, we work closely together across different professional groups.

Your tasks will include, among other things:

To carry out home-based family programs

·To work based on action plans and goals set by the responsible authority

-To develop action plans with goals and sub-goals for the families

To support and guide parents in daily structure, relationships, parental roles, and parenting strategies.

To document the effort and contribute to professional assessments.

·To engage in close collaboration with internal and external partners

We expect that you:

·Has a relevant social education (e.g., educator, counselor, therapist, or similar)

·Has experience with family work or supportive interventions

Can work holistically, structured, and independently.

Is strong in relationship work and can build trust in vulnerable families.

Is strong in interdisciplinary collaboration.

·Has good written and oral communication skills in Greenlandic

Thrives in a dynamic everyday life with both planned and urgent tasks.

Is mentally and physically robust and can maintain an overview and professionalism in a busy everyday life characterized by diverse and sometimes complex situations.

  • Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record and child certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No housing can be provided for the position.
