Kitchen Manager

The student home in Nuuk is a home with space for 28 students from 9th to 10th grade – for students coming from the municipalities of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.

There is a leader, 7 permanent employees, 1 cook, and 6 assistants. Food needs to be prepared for about 30 people daily.

The chef/kitchen manager is responsible for achieving the most optimal operation of the kitchen in order to offer students a diet that is as versatile, healthy, and economically sound as possible, where both the good daily meals and festive meals on special occasions and holidays are given high priority.

Your tasks will be:

Responsible for planning and purchasing

Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Cleaning and maintenance

Collaboration with the other staff of the student residence.

• Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

·Has a driver's license, but it is not a requirement.

The working hours are 40 hours a week. The daily working hours are agreed upon with the manager of the student residence.

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
