Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking a new colleague for the Suialaa Arts Festival starting 01.09.2025 or by agreement. The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a new colleague for the Suialaa Arts Festival, starting on September 1, 2025, or by agreement. The position will run until November 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
The Suialaa Arts Festival will be held next in October 2027. With a heartfelt commitment to promoting and advancing Greenlandic art and artists, the festival works to create a platform where artists and audiences from the Arctic and the North can meet, exchange ideas, and inspire each other.
Arctic Spotlight Network is an international festival network between Suialaa Arts Festival, Arctic Sounds, Riddu Riđđu Festival, and Áak’w Rock. The network aims to promote collaborations, address common challenges, and develop skills among the leading festivals in the Arctic, with a strong focus on the perspectives of indigenous peoples.

The content of the position:
The position consists of 50% administration of the festival network Arctic Spotlight Network and 50% of tasks related to Suialaa Arts Festival, including:
·Grant applications to Arctic Spotlight Network
·Coordination of network meetings and internal communication
Building the network's digital infrastructure
Communication about the Suialaa Arts Festival, including social, physical, and digital media.
Preparatory tasks, such as contact with artists and collaborators
Possible travel activity
Participation in an intense period of the festival's execution
·Ad hoc tasks
In the months leading up to the festival, the position will increasingly consist of the festival's tasks. At that time, the position can be adjusted according to the candidate's preferences.
Expectations for applicants:
·Has knowledge of the culture and arts sector in Greenland, the Arctic, and the Nordic countries.
·Has experience in coordinating and developing projects - preferably within the cultural sector.
Has a relevant educational background in culture, art, events, or another relevant field.
·Communicates clearly and distinctly both in writing and orally in Greenlandic and English.
Takes responsibility for your tasks and joins a team that takes responsibility for each other. Both to solve the task together and to have a good work life.
Is prepared to make an extra effort leading up to and during the festival.

You will work daily with the festival director and will report to the department head for Leisure and Culture in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. The team is expected to grow by 2-3 project employees by 2027.
NOTE! For the right candidates, the position can be divided into two – one network coordinator and one project employee.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
