Lead Social Worker

The Family Team is seeking a lead social worker for a full-time position in the authority sector, working with children and youth. Responsibilities include developing professional specialization, case management, training of staff, and daily leadership. Knowledge of Greenlandic community conditions is an advantage.

Administration for Children and Families - The Family Team is seeking a Lead Social Worker for immediate employment or as agreed upon.

The position of leading social workers is a full-time position within the authority sector that works with children and young people.

The working hours are from Monday to Friday (40 hours a week).

Your areas of responsibility will primarily consist of:

Develop and maintain a high level of professional specialization in handling notifications throughout the municipality.

Delegation of cases

Quality assurance and management of case processes and deadlines in accordance with the Child Support Act and internal case flow descriptions.

·Exercise daily professional leadership

Control of the professional quality in casework

Training of employees in the use of professional methods, as well as social professional investigations.

·Sparring on individual cases

Ensure that the administrative basis is adhered to.

Ensure that internal deadlines are met.

·Implement and monitor the competence and delegation plan

·Other tasks as agreed with the department heads

The Administration for Children and Family:

The Administration for Children and Family handles the authority area and is part of a team that manages all case processing for children and families.

The administration is divided into teams, including the reception team, the family team, the placed team, and the foster family team. The tasks are handled by all caseworkers, including the preparation of social assessments, the development of action plans, working on prevention, managing cases, working with placed children and young people in foster families or residential institutions, as well as aftercare.

The notification duty and emergency duty receive all notifications for the entire Municipality of Sermersooq and process them. In addition, they have case files where measures have been initiated.

Our internal partners (Children and Family Center (CFR), Kuserneq, Youth Center, the Tupaarnaq Children's Home, and foster family consultants) and external partners (the Police, healthcare system, schools, daycare institutions, residential institutions, foster families, etc.).

Criminal and Child Certificate:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

Housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent housing cannot be made available immediately upon taking up the position, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
