This includes legislation, including its own social legislation, strategies, and projects to strengthen the conditions for vulnerable adults and the elderly in Greenland.
The tasks in the Department of Social Affairs include the preparation of legislation.

The Government is also working on a number of reform initiatives in the social sector with
with a view to increased welfare for the adult vulnerable individuals as well as for our elderly citizens in
Greenland, which the lawyer will engage in and advise on.
Organizationally, the position is placed under the department head for Social Affairs. You
will be part of the department's legal team and will have close collaboration with lawyers in
the department. Your tasks will mainly relate to social law matters
areas.

About the position

The tasks include, among other things, acting as an advisor to the political level in collaboration with the management of the department.

To assist in the preparation of social legislation and ensure that any guidelines for this are also developed.

To prepare political proposals, reports, responses, etc.

Legislative preparatory work in the form of assistance and project collaboration with the individual departments and the administration of Inatsisartut, as well as the Danish authorities.

Legal quality assurance of proposals for Inatsisartut laws, the Self-Government's regulations, municipal bylaws, and cross-cutting circulars, as well as the confirmation and publication of these.

Legal advice in the social field, including the preparation of legal notes and responses.

Resolve and guide in administrative law tasks across the departments.

Conducting courses on legal quality, case handling, and other legal topics within the social sector.
