The internship offers professional and personal development in accounting, with rotation among several subject areas. We are looking for motivated candidates with an interest in economics and numbers, who work in a structured and responsible manner.
The Self-Government's central economic function is looking for 3 AU students in Economics & Resources starting August 2026. Do you want to work with accounting in an internship where you have the opportunity for both professional and personal development? Then you might be one of our new students at the Central Accounting Unit (DcR) in the Department of Economics and Personnel.
About the department

The accounts receivable department

The creditor bookkeeping

The Office for Accounting Development

Controlling & Budget Follow-up

We handle the central accounting function in the Government of Greenland and work, among other things, on: Preparation of the annual accounts of the National Treasury.

Bookkeeping in the Self-Government's financial system
-
Reconciliation of accounts and follow-up on open items in collaboration with the units.

Payroll and education-related bookkeeping as well as reporting to the Tax Agency

Receipt and handling of invoices
-
Debtor and creditor management as well as payments
-
Guidance on financial systems for the Self-Government's units

About you
We are looking for someone who is motivated to learn and has an interest in economics and numbers.

Professional qualifications: Has a high school education, relevant vocational training, or GVU – or is enrolled in AU in Economics & Resources.

You will be assigned a practice supervisor who will support you throughout the process with guidance, planning, and follow-up.
About the Agency for Modernization and Public Administration (ASA)
DcR is part of the Agency for Economy and Personnel (ASA), which consists of about 100 employees. ASA is a central service unit under the Ministry of Finance and Taxes and works, among other things, with payroll, collective agreements, strategic procurement, interpretation, and internal auditing.
As a student, you become part of a common student network across the Self-Government's departments and agencies. Here, students meet at least twice a year for professional sparring and networking.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable skills, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
