The Government of Greenland is seeking an economic consultant for the Department of Education, Culture, Sports and Church. The Department of Education, Culture, Sports, and Church is looking for a new colleague for the finance department – a new colleague who can ensure good and structured case handling in the building sector, while also further developing and continuously strengthening budget and financial management across the entire education, culture, sports, and church areas.
The development of the education sector has a high priority, so that the best educational opportunities can be created for everyone and qualified labor can be ensured for the business community. Funding for culture is considered essential to ensure the ongoing development of society's assets. Grants for sports are sought to be allocated to athletes, as sports are seen as a way to combat lifestyle diseases, among other things. Additionally, the church is an integral part of the structure of society.

Your personal qualifications:

We prefer that you have a relevant academic, vocational, or higher education, preferably in social sciences, business economics, or resource and financial management.

You have experience from a similar position or from a position within the financial sector.

You have an understanding of bookkeeping, finance, and statistical work.

You have a good knowledge of Greenlandic society and the public system in Greenland.

You have good language skills, preferably Greenlandic and English.

You have the ability to maintain an overview in a complex process.

Concrete tasks: Case processing of the building area under activity area 40 in the finance act.

Controlling and accounting analysis in the entire education, culture, sports, and church sector.

Provide consultancy assistance to a number of institutions based on the department's internal institutional authority.

Alone or together with others in the team, they conduct institutional visits with the aim of assisting and advising the institution's management in acute situations.

Coordinator responsible for the organization of the Office Manager Meeting.

Contact person for all office managers under the ministry's area of responsibility.

Contribute to the development and optimization of work processes.

Responsible for and coordinating the purchasing function in the department.

For academics; Case processing of political decision proposals.

Communication of departmental instructions and guidelines to underlying operational units.

Ad-hoc economic, statistical, and accounting tasks.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and departure travel and moving of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For the right qualified candidate with several years of experience, employment, after a specific assessment, may occur on special consultant terms. If one is already a special consultant with several years of experience, one may, after a specific assessment, be employed on chief consultant terms.
Housing
No staff housing is allocated for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the allocated staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
