Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is seeking a consultant for the office in Tasiilaq. The position involves financial tasks such as accounting, budget follow-up, and advising. We are looking for a person with a financial background, knowledge of IRIS, and a desire to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Knowledge of Greenlandic is an advantage.
Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is seeking a consultant for the office. About Princess Margrethe's Children's Home:
Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is located in Tasiilaq on Greenland's east coast and is a residential institution operated by the Self-Government, the Social Authority. The Residential and Admissions Department is responsible for its operation.
Princess Margrethe's Children's Home consists of two children's and youth departments, a satellite called Nasippi, and an associated daycare service called Qaaliaaq.
The two departments are staffed with nine in the Small group and nine in the Large group, aged 3 to 14 years. They are primarily children from Tasiilaq and the surrounding villages.
Children may have social and emotional challenges; they have a great need for care, structure, and stable adult contact.
Nasippi is a round-the-clock department for six adults with physical and mental disabilities who are partially self-sufficient. There is an attached sheltered workshop, Qaaliaaq, under the disability satellite, where residents have the opportunity to engage in protected and paid employment. In the workshop, social interaction is prioritized, and the users create handicrafts.
Princess Margrethe's children's home has a small house in a deserted village, a boat, a mini hall, and snowmobiles. This provides the opportunity to create good activities with and for the children.
Tasiilaq is incredibly picturesque and invites many wonderful nature experiences, hunting, and fishing year-round. In the town, there is, among other things, a hall with a fitness center, a new outdoor football field, a ski slope with a lift, a school with childcare services, a leisure club for older children, day care facilities, and several grocery stores.
