We are looking for a department nurse for the regional hospital in Aasiaat's outpatient clinic. You will lead a multidisciplinary staff group and enhance nursing and patient pathways. The workplace offers a dedicated team and a focus on well-being. Start date is March 1, 2026, or by agreement.

We are looking for a department nurse for the regional hospital in Aasiaat's outpatient clinic, starting on March 1, 2026, or by agreement.

The outpatient clinic includes medical consultations, nursing consultations, a venereal clinic, an interpreting office, a laboratory, an X-ray facility, and an emergency room.

You will lead a well-functioning team of nurses, healthcare assistants, and interpreters with administrative tasks.

You will have a close collaboration with the department nurses throughout the Disko region, as we focus on cooperation across the region.

The management structure is flat, and there is visible leadership that will act as a sparring partner alongside the other department heads, the operations manager, and the chief regional physician.

As a department nurse, you are:

  • Responsible for visible daily management.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of nursing within the clinical area.
  • Responsible for ensuring high professionalism in patient contacts and targeted patient pathways.
  • Co-responsible for planning and coordinating tasks related to specialist visits.
  • Co-responsible for recruitment and retention of employees
  • In collaboration with the staff group responsible for a good working environment.
  • Responsible for duty schedule and vacation plan

Aasiaat

Aasiaat is located in the Disko Region in Northwest Greenland. The healthcare system consists of the hospital in Aasiaat, the health centers in Qasigiannguit and Qeqertarsuaq, the nursing station in Kangaatsiaq, and village health clinics in the 8 villages. In the town of Aasiaat, there are about 3000 inhabitants, about 1000 inhabitants in the surrounding area, and approximately 7000 inhabitants in the entire region.

Region Disko is located north of the Arctic Circle, which means we have both midnight sun in the summer and polar night in the winter. The area has been inhabited for many generations, which is evident from the fine traces around the region. The nature is characterized by the sea, the archipelago, the mountains, the sea ice, and the icebergs. There are good opportunities to visit the other larger towns in the region.

Housing

Housing is allocated according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.

Salary and employment

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Citizenship

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that the employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
