The Disability and Social Psychiatry team is seeking a caring and approachable employee for the support corps in Paamiut, currently located in Naasunnguit. If you have the heart in the right place and are passionate about making a difference for our citizens, you might be the colleague we need.
The position is 40 hours per week, with rotating shifts and weekend work. You will work alongside 2 employees in the collective housing, who also work 40 hours a week.
In the Naasunnguit collective, there are 4 residents with mental disabilities and developmental impairments. Residents have their own rooms and share a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and toilet with other residents. Your core task will be to help residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills, so they can be as self-reliant as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support residents in living a good and fulfilling life as they wish.
Your tasks:
· Work on developing residents towards greater self-reliance and improved quality of life, including working on residents' action plans
· Motivate and support residents in daily activities such as walking, shopping, cooking, and doctor visits
· Strengthen the community through collaboration with colleagues, leaders, and residents
Tasks are solved in close collaboration with other employees of the collective, as well as internal and external partners, including caseworkers, Queen Margrethe's Hospital, and the correctional service.

· You have experience working with people, preferably in the field

· Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement
About us:
In this position, you will be part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, five collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support corps distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. Therefore, the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the record from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of employment.
The employment will include a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
A staff residence may be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, consumption, etc., are payable according to the current rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland's and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff residence cannot be provided immediately upon employment, a temporary residence will be offered to employees entitled to a vacant residence, for which rent, consumption, etc., are payable according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff residence is available. Relocation travel and moving of belongings are provided according to current rules.
