Activity Assistant

The nursing home Utoqqaat Illuat is looking for a dedicated activity staff member for our activity center Qanilaarfik. The nursing home Utoqqaat Illuat is one of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq's elderly institutions and is located in the center of Nuuk.

About Qanilaarfik

Qanilaarfik is a gathering place for pensioners, disabled individuals, and residents of the nursing home, where maintenance training, care, support, and social interaction are offered in collaboration with the users.

Work tasks

• Plan and carry out various activities that stimulate, train, and inspire users and residents.
• Contribute to the development of the activity area based on users' needs and wishes.
• Collaboration with the therapy team on planning training/gymnastics
• Participate in care and support tasks for users who are referred to the day center.
• Prevent loneliness and support users' quality of life
• Collaboration with volunteers and colleagues in the house
• Purchase of activity materials in collaboration with the manager/deputy manager
• Participate in meetings with staff and users

We are looking for an employee who:

• Have experience with activities in the elderly sector.
• I have experience in interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Has creative or craft skills and interests
• Has an interest in the elderly and disability sector
• Is open, responsible, respectful, flexible, and cooperative.
• Can organize their work and initiate activities based on users' needs.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
