Student Assistant (Law Student)

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a skilled and dedicated law student for the Department of Welfare and Labor Market.

About the position

The position is a part-time job of about 10–15 hours per week with flexibility regarding your studies.

You will become part of the staff and report directly to department head Luvisa Kristiansen, where you will receive close guidance and insight into how law is applied in a complex public organization.

You will work at the intersection of law, administration, and practice, with tasks that are actually used.

The content of the position

As a student assistant, you will among other things work with:

Updating and developing legal templates for social workers

Quality assurance and review of decisions (e.g. DSA area)

Contribute to consultation responses and legal assessments

Support the work with administrative law issues

·Ad hoc tasks of a legal and administrative nature

You will have the opportunity to gradually take on more responsibility, depending on your skills and interests.

Expectations for applicants

You are a law student at Ilisimatusarfik and:

·Are at the end of your bachelor's degree or in the process of your master's degree

·Has an interest in public law, administration, and the welfare area

·Has an understanding of – or a desire to learn – legal method in practice

Works in a structured manner and has an eye for both details and the whole.

Can express yourself clearly and precisely – even when it becomes complex.

Criminal record

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Regulations of April 3, 2018, on salary and employment conditions for student assistants under the Government of Greenland and the Greenlandic municipalities.

The hourly wage will depend on your year of study.

No housing can be provided for the position.
