If you are passionate about working with the homeless in Sisimiut, then this position is for you. Qeqqata Municipality in Sisimiut is looking for a skilled and motivated leader for the Emergency Shelter in Sisimiut.
The emergency shelter is open for overnight stays from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM the next day, during the summer period and in the winter period from 5:00 PM to 12:00 PM the next day.
Citizens who wish to stay overnight in Nødherberg must register with Qeqqata Kommunia at the Welfare Area to secure a place for the night. Bed linen, towels, and beds are provided. In addition to these, overnight guests can cook and clean their own personal belongings. Users have access to a laundry room, shower, kitchen, shared living room with TV, and conversation with staff as needed.
As part of the activating effort, the users must help clean and strip the beds in the morning and evening.
There are a total of 3 employees including the manager at the emergency shelter, in addition, there are also substitutes who are called in as needed.
Work and areas of responsibility:
The primary tasks of the staff at the emergency shelter for the homeless are to help ensure that the users of the shelter comply with house rules and activities, etc., in collaboration with other staff and the users. Additionally, they support the activating efforts at the shelter.

Has management experience working with socially disadvantaged citizens.

Has a health professional, social pedagogical, or other relevant social professional basic education, but it is not a requirement.

Perhaps you have a completely different professional background, but can demonstrate experience and flair for working.

Have experience working with socially vulnerable citizens.

That you have an understanding of organizational work.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

That you have experience with Outlook, Word, Excel as tools.

Employment and remuneration are carried out in accordance with the applicable agreements and collective agreements at any given time.
A staff housing cannot be provided for the position.

Criminal record.
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the legislation, employment can only be considered once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.
