Skilled and dedicated consultant sought for the Political Secretariat in Paamiut. The position involves servicing village councils and local committees, meeting preparation, budget follow-up, and secretarial tasks. We are looking for a responsible and cooperative person with an office education who can remain calm in pressured situations. Start date depends on the availability of staff housing.
The political secretariat is a central staff function for the mayor and the management team, and it is to support the municipality's areas of authority and visions.
The political secretariat is responsible for political servicing; in addition to the mayor, this includes both municipal council members and village council members, as well as local committees. The village and local committee coordinator will be responsible for servicing two village councils on the West Coast, namely the village council of Arsuk and the village council of Qeqertarsuatsiaat/Kapisillit, and local committees in Paamiut.
The content of the position:

This position focuses primarily on servicing the municipal councils along the West Coast and local committees in Paamiut. This includes organizing meetings, such as preparing agendas and drafting minutes. Implementing and following up on decisions. Additionally, ensuring ongoing status updates on decisions.

Budget follow-up within the village council and local committee funds

The village councils are served in collaboration with the village councils' coordinator in Nuuk, and the local committee is served.

Support other political meetings, e.g. standing committee meetings, Economic and Business Committee meetings, and Municipal Council meetings.

Assist the department manager with secretarial tasks.

Criminal record:

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If a permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
