SEARCH THIS POSITION AC executive/special consultant for the Maritime Office – Department of Housing, Infrastructure and Outlying Districts
Would you like to work with critical infrastructure in a country that has the world's attention?
Would you like to contribute to decisions about ports, shipping, and infrastructure at a time when Greenland is playing an increasingly important role in global security and societal development?
And do you want to work closely with politicians in a civil service that has to navigate a new and more complex global situation every day?
Then the position as AC consultant/special advisor in the Maritime Office might be your next step.
Close to politics, power, and reality
As an employee in the Department of Housing, Infrastructure, and Outlying Districts, you become part of the administrative engine room where political decisions become reality. You work closely with the political level of the Naalakkersuisut and contribute directly to the basis for decisions, legislation, and strategic choices that have significance far beyond Greenland's borders.
Here, there is a short distance between analysis and action – and your work will be felt in both cities, rural areas, and international collaborations.
Employee with a broad range of competencies for the Port Area
The Infrastructure Department collaborates with relevant national authorities to organize legislation in Greenland, taking into account the special conditions that apply in Greenland. This involves problem-solving that operates at the intersection of law, politics, and specific local circumstances.
There are tasks with significant geopolitical attention, where complex issues must be communicated clearly and distinctly to, for example, external stakeholders or the political level.
The port area includes the management of the Central Port Authority, including the administration of the Port Act and collaboration with local stakeholders such as local port authorities and businesses. The management of the port area also involves close cooperation with the Renovation Agency regarding the self-governing port facilities. There will also be administrative tasks of a technical nature related to the establishment and maintenance of port and quay structures. Internationally, there is cooperation with foreign authorities.
You will actively participate in the implementation of Greenland's Port Sector Plan through close collaboration with consultants on the planning, development, and modernization of port projects across the country, focusing on future-proof solutions in line with the sector plan's goals.
The task area is broad, and the specific tasks in the maritime and port sector will be continuously organized in collaboration with the head of the Maritime Office.
