Consultant for the Office of Fishing Licenses and ESU, Department of Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture and Self-Sufficiency The Fisheries Department, Department of Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture and Self-Sufficiency is seeking a consultant for the Office of Fishing Licenses and ESU who will assist in issuing coastal licenses, exemptions, quota trading, quota flexibility, and collaborating with municipalities on license issuance.
The department's main goal is to promote the development of the fishing and hunting industries, as well as veterinary conditions in accordance with overarching political objectives. Additionally, it manages the rules adopted by the Inatsisartut and Naalakkersuisut within these areas.
The Office for Fishing Licenses and ESUs is a subdivision of the Fisheries Department, where there is close collaboration across the department as well as with the Department of Legal and Economic Planning and Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control. As a consultant, you will assist your colleagues in coordinating this collaboration closely with the office manager. About the position
A consultant is being sought for the Office of Fishing Licenses and ESU, whose main tasks will consist of issuing fishing licenses, processing quota trades, and collaborating with municipalities regarding coastal fishing. You will work together with your colleagues to perform these tasks and coordinate the work with guidelines, instructions, and standard letters. Furthermore, based on the fishing law, there are several new tasks that are being implemented, including IT development and efficiency improvements. Tasks: Issuance of coastal licenses

Implementation of quota trading and quota flexibility for fisheries with Individual Transferable Quotas

Processing of exemption applications

Handling of mortgage deeds in connection with the purchase and sale of quota shares

Collaboration with and training of the municipalities regarding license issuance.

Service to fishermen and citizen inquiries regarding fishing and license issuance

Assist the Fisheries Department with updating application forms, sullisivik.gl, etc.

Process cases in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Participation in the implementation of general administrative guidelines, procedures, and quality requirements in the Department.

Implementation of the Fisheries Act and associated regulations in the coastal area

Collaboration with GFJK, the legal department, and the Fisheries Department on the development of fishing and legislation.

Coordinate the update of guidelines, policies, and standard letters in the department in collaboration with colleagues.

Qualification requirements:
A versatile candidate with a relevant education and experience is being sought. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

You speak and write Greenlandic and Danish.

Proactive and ready to take responsibility for task solving and development thereof.

Professional experience within all or parts of the responsibilities of the Department and the Self-Government.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
