The Ministry of Environment and Nature is seeking a new colleague for the management secretariat. You will work closely with the permanent secretary and the management team to ensure smooth case processing. Tasks include political decision proposals, quality assurance, and communication tasks. The position requires a relevant education and experience with political processes.

The Department of Nature and Environment is looking for a new colleague who can work closely with the head of department and the rest of the management.
The department consists of approximately 35 employees, distributed across three divisions (the Department of Service, Economy, Personnel, and Climate; the Nature Department; and the Environmental and Emergency Management Department) as well as the Environmental Agency for the Raw Materials area. Pinngortitaleriffik (Greenland's Nature Institute) and Asiaq are also subordinate units to the department.
You will help ensure that case processes and workdays run smoothly and efficiently – both by servicing the head of department, the management team, and the rest of the department. You will report to the head of department but will also work closely with the rest of the management team and your colleagues in other departments. You need to be efficient and flexible, and ready to assist in individual departments if there is an unstaffed position for a period or for other reasons there is increased workload.
Your tasks
You will be part of a small management secretariat that services and supports the department's management regarding daily operations, planning, and political priorities. You can expect an exciting everyday life characterized by many different types of tasks, often depending on the inquiries that come either from the political side, citizens, or municipalities. You can expect that your primary tasks will be:

Contribute to the implementation of political priorities and goals.

Coordinator of important tasks and preparation of political decision-making proposals

Quality assurance of material to be presented to the permanent secretary and the minister.

Response and coordination of hearings and other inquiries to the department
-
All forms of communication tasks across the areas of responsibility in the department.

Follow-up on tasks across departments in the ministry
-
Management support in the form of preparing minutes, notes, etc.

Preparation and development of materials and presentations for meetings

Various ad hoc and support tasks
This is a position with many facets and a broad area of responsibility. You should expect to work with tight deadlines, so you need to be good at maintaining an overview and continuously prioritizing your tasks. In the department, we are about 35 employees, of which the Leadership Secretariat consists of 2-3 employees.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
