We are looking for a bilingual health assistant for the Kangerlussuaq nursing station. The position is available from April 1, 2026, in a permanent role or by agreement. The work is diverse and challenging, as we provide services to all age groups in general, acute, follow-up, and preventive nursing care. You will work closely with the doctors at the Sisimiut Regional Hospital.
We are looking for a bilingual healthcare assistant for Kangerlussuaq nursing station.
The position is available for appointment from April 1, 2026, in a permanent position or by agreement. One can also serve as a substitute for at least 6 months.
The Kangerlussuaq nursing station is staffed with 2 personnel. One nurse and one healthcare assistant.
We are looking for you, who is a healthcare assistant with broad clinical experience and a solid professional foundation. You will, of course, receive support and guidance from the regional hospital, but the job requires a very high degree of independence and sense of responsibility, as you will often be part of a two-person health team on-site. It demands a lot from the individual, and you are a good team player who values good tone, honesty, and diligence.
The job:
The Kangerlussuaq nursing station is open on weekdays from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM and has no on-call duty. After 04:00 PM and on weekends, citizens call the Sisimiut Regional Hospital.
The work at the nursing station is diverse and can be challenging, as we provide service to all age groups within general, acute, follow-up, and preventive nursing care.
Treatments take place in collaboration with the doctors at the Regional Hospital Sisimiut, with whom there is a good and close cooperation. The doctor comes 6 times a year for 2-3 days.
As a healthcare assistant, you will work with scheduling appointments for consultations, triaging and treating acute and general consultations, pharmacy functions, laboratory tasks such as blood tests, interpretation, administrative tasks, and similar duties. During the peak season from May to September, there may be more inquiries from tourists.
Kangerlussuaq Airport is a village near Sisimiut in Qeqqata Municipality with about 400 residents. Since November 2024, it has become a stopover airport and has had slightly more Atlantic flights during the summer periods. There is a public school, a childcare institution, and a sports hall.
