Health Assistant

Home Care Nuuk is seeking 2 health assistants for night shifts. The tasks include care and support, medication administration, and rehabilitative duties. We are looking for responsible and dedicated individuals who can work independently and in teams. A driver's license is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The home care service is seeking 2 skilled and dedicated Health Assistants for night shifts.

The home care service in Nuuk takes care of tasks for about 290 citizens in their own homes, which can range from personal care to shopping. Since the autumn of 2017, we have provided home care around the clock.

The home care consists of day shifts, evening shifts, and night shifts, a department manager, 2 team coordinators, health helpers, health assistants, support staff distributed across all shifts, as well as unskilled workers in the day shift, who each day help maintain the citizen's quality of life, so they can stay in their own home for as long as possible.

The tasks for the citizens are divided into 10 routes managed by permanent staff. The evening team consists of two groups, each group has 5 staff members. The tasks are also distributed, with users being divided in the evening. They have a duty mobile while at work, and a person is designated to handle emergency calls in case of urgent visits. Those with a driver's license use the Home Care vehicle, while staff without a driver's license take the bus to the users in a specific order. Evening shifts meet for a break in the evening, eat together, and distribute tasks to those who need help in collaboration with the evening team. They can always contact each other.

We are looking for a healthcare assistant who is willing to take responsibility for the execution of tasks with the citizens and to provide guidance to unskilled workers and students.

Implement health-promoting and preventive measures in collaboration with the citizens.

·Observe, identify, and respond appropriately to symptoms of the most common somatic and mental disorders in citizens.

·Could engage in interdisciplinary collaboration based on one's own level of competence.

Can take responsibility and perform tasks independently.

Introduce and guide new staff and students.

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with the other employees of the home care service, the department manager, and interdisciplinary partners.

The working hours are 40 hours per week in day shifts. You will be on duty every other weekend.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment terms:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
