School consultant for Nalunnguarfiup Atuarfia focusing on improved school-home collaboration and transitions in primary education. The work involves advising, developing materials for teachers, and collaborating with school leadership, parents, and social workers. The goal is to reduce dropout rates and ensure more students continue in their educational journey.
We have about 400 students distributed across 20 regular classes, 9 special classes, a vocational class, 2 creative classes, a family class, and ACT – from 1st to 10th grade.
In recent years, the public school in Qeqqata Municipality has undergone rapid development. This development will continue in the coming years, and we are looking for teachers who want to make a difference and contribute to this development.
School consultant:
The purpose of the work is to improve the public school system through enhanced school-home collaboration and a strengthened focus on transitions in primary school. In doing so, Qeqqata Municipality hopes to reduce student dropout rates and ensure that more students continue their education after primary school.
There will be close collaboration with school management, parents, teachers, students, and social workers as well as daycare center leaders and Majoriaq.
The position will involve tasks related to advisory home visits to families where students have significant school absenteeism.
We find it important that the school consultant, in their work, strengthens the efforts related to the school's vision, which is: The student is jointly responsible for developing personally, socially, and academically.

Current tasks:

Develop and ensure a good school-home collaboration, including creating materials/templates to assist teachers in optimizing the school-home partnership.

Based on studies of trintest results, proposals are made for which areas should be strengthened and targeted for initiatives.

Ensure coordination between day care institutions and the school's youngest grade.

Maintain the red thread during transitions between steps.

Ensure bridging between primary schools and educational institutions/businesses.

Create good conditions for a successful transition for rural students when they move on to urban schools, including integration at the school home.

Ensure interdisciplinary collaboration between primary schools and the family sector.

Advise teachers and parents as well as develop proposals regarding students who are either academically weak or strong.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement (see www.imak.gl), including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings. After 3 years of employment, one is entitled to return travel and relocation of personal belongings.
Housing
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above.
Child certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a satisfactory child certificate from the National Police.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record from the police.
