The Ministry of Education is seeking a school consultant for IT didactics and technology understanding. The position involves strengthening IT education in primary schools and implementing IT strategies. The consultant will advise teachers, conduct courses, and participate in interdisciplinary projects. Requirements include relevant education and experience with digital tools.
A position as a school consultant for the subject area of IT didactics and in the subject of technology understanding is available for appointment at the Danish Agency for Education and Quality.
The position is available for occupancy on August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The position is located in the Department for the Educational Area and reports to the team leader/department head.
The school consultant will have a unique opportunity to influence the development work within their field and will be involved in implementing the Education Agency's IT strategy for the primary school sector.
The school consultant's tasks include:

Contribute to strengthening IT education in primary schools, including the implementation of subject objectives and learning goals.

Contribute to the implementation of the Danish Agency for Education and Quality's IT strategy in the primary school sector.

To inform, inspire, and advise teachers, schools, and municipalities.

To hold seminars and courses.

To assist in the preparation of proposals for teaching courses and teaching materials.

To engage in the work with the Government of Greenland's education plans and strategies, as well as other initiatives, particularly in the area of primary education.

To participate in interdisciplinary projects and tasks - in collaboration with the other school consultants and teams/departments in the Ministry of Education as well as with external partners.

Prepare notes, responses, reports, etc.

Has relevant education, possibly a teaching degree with a master's or graduate degree in pedagogy or similar.

Has a thorough knowledge of the primary school in Greenland, as well as cultural and societal conditions, and preferably teaching experience from primary school.

Is familiar with the inclusion of digital tools and teaching materials in educational contexts.

Is well-informed about new trends in pedagogy and didactics within the subject area.

Is professionally and pedagogically well-founded and reflective.

Has good oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Is structured, responsible, and solution-oriented.

Is initiative-taking and can work independently, but also has good collaboration skills.
The Education Agency is a politically governed organization that works both with servicing the ministry and the political level, as well as development and production. The Education Agency is a diverse workplace with many different functions, which, in addition to more traditional agency functions, also has its own publishing house, printing press, and information and lending collections. The agency primarily deals with public schools, boarding schools, and independent schools, as well as GUX, Attat, and NUIKI. We are about 55 colleagues who, in an informal environment, take pride in maintaining a high professional standard.
Salary and employment conditions:
Employment will take place under collective agreement terms according to the "Collective Agreement between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenlandic Primary Schools, IMAK, for teachers in public schools." If the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil service laws for the public sector in Greenland, employment may occur under civil servant terms.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing:
No staff housing can be provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is tied to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
