Do you want to help develop new teaching materials for the Greenlandic primary school? You will collaborate with the Ministry of Education and teachers to ensure that the materials are academically strong and practical.
APPLY FOR THIS POSITION Temporary position until February 28, 2030
Would you like to help develop new teaching materials for the Greenlandic primary school? And are you interested in playing an important role in the development of a new national platform for teaching materials – while ensuring that the materials work in teachers' everyday lives? Then you might be the learning consultant we are looking for at Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa.
Briefly about Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa
Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa is a completely new project where we develop and update teaching materials and establish a new national learning platform for the entire primary school. The project is carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, which will gradually take over ownership during the project period. The goal is to provide teachers with better materials and easier access to them – in line with Kivitsisa's learning approach and the reality of the Greenlandic primary school.
The position
As a learning consultant for teaching materials, you will play a central role in Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa. You will be involved in developing teaching materials that are academically strong, pedagogically well thought out, and suitable for use in a real school environment. You maintain a focus on academic goals and the reality of teachers: You know how they prepare, how they use materials, and what it takes for new materials to actually be adopted.
You will be responsible for developing teaching materials in close collaboration with colleagues in Kivitsisa, teachers from the schools, and the editors from the Ministry of Education. At the same time, you will become a key person in the work with the new material platform. You will help to develop and qualify it. Once it is completed, you should know it so well that you can assist others – editors, colleagues, and external partners – in using it in the best way. You will also support the teachers' work with the platform.
Become a part of Kivitsisa
You will become part of Kivitsisa's small, virtual secretariat, which is still finding its place in the Greenlandic education landscape. We work as a development unit: Close to practice, experimental, and preferably using technology as a lever. This applies both to our projects and internally within the secretariat. We are informal but ambitious, and we emphasize knowledge sharing, short decision-making paths, and a good working community. You will report to the project manager in Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa and work closely with colleagues in Kivitsisa, the Education Agency, teachers, and external partners. As a starting point, the workplace is in Nuuk, but it is also possible to live elsewhere in Greenland.

Ad hoc tasks
Who are you?
We are primarily looking for someone who knows the school from the inside and understands the teachers' practice. Someone who can see opportunities for development and improvement without losing sight of everyday life, and who does it in a way that builds trust and brings others along.
We expect that you have:
-
In-depth knowledge of the Greenlandic public school You know how the teachers work, prepare, and use teaching materials in practice.
-
Didactic understanding and desire to develop good materials You can see what makes a material usable, meaningful, and academically strong.
-
Ability to create trust and collaboration You work well with teachers, editors, colleagues, and partners, contributing to development in a way that others want to be part of.
-
Desire and flair for getting to know new digital solutions. You don't need to know everything from the start, but you should have an interest in learning new things, a flair for IT, and the courage to take on a new platform.
-
Ability to help others effectively integrate into new tools and workflows. You can make new solutions understandable and applicable for those who will work with them in their daily lives.
-
Familiarity with Kivitsisa is an advantage. It is a strength if you are already familiar with our learning approach, tools, and way of working.
-
Language and context You have a deep understanding of the school's reality in Greenland. Bilingualism (Danish/Greenlandic) is highly valued, and English is an advantage.
You will be part of a joint municipal, virtual secretariat with close collaborators across the country.
Employment type and duration: Fixed-term until February 28, 2030. Start date August 1 or by agreement.
Workplace: The position is primarily based in Nuuk, but it will be possible to live elsewhere in Greenland.
Salary and conditions: In accordance with applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the relevant collective bargaining party.
Housing: No accommodation can be offered.
