Do you want to lead Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa, where we will integrate new learning materials and a national teaching platform into schools' daily routines? You will manage a small project team and external consultants, and you need to speak both learning and technology to ensure that the solutions have the intended impact on teaching.
APPLY FOR THIS POSITION Temporary position until February 28, 2030
Would you like to lead Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa, where we aim to make new teaching materials and a national education platform a part of everyday school life? And would you also like to continue and expand a strong collaborative culture across municipalities, the Ministry of Education, and the Institute for Learning? Then you might be our new project manager for Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa.
Become a part of Kivitsisa
Kivitsisa is a new, small, and virtual secretariat – spread over many thousands of kilometers. We are still in the process of establishing ourselves and finding our place in the Greenlandic educational landscape. We are a development unit, working experimentally and finding new paths – preferably with technology as a lever. This applies both to our projects and internally within the secretariat. We are informal but ambitious, and we prioritize knowledge sharing, short decision-making processes, and a good social work community within the framework of a virtual secretariat.
The position
As a project manager, you will have daily implementation responsibility for Pinnguarluta Kivitsisa in close dialogue with the head of Kivitsisa's secretariat, to whom you report. In this position, you will have an exciting opportunity to influence the development in the education sector. You will build a close and trusting collaboration with the Education Agency and create good habits for how we work together across departments. You will lead a small project team and external consultants, gather the threads, and maintain direction. You can talk both learning and technology: you have an understanding of technology, so you can discuss the learning portal competently with technical developers, and you will understand Kivitsisa's didactics so well that the solutions have the intended effect in teaching.
Your tasks
Collaboration and direction with the Danish Agency for Education and Quality
Establish common direction and workflows, ensure that binding priorities are created, clear interfaces and timelines that together ensure the planned transfer of the platform and materials.
Platform – from need to solution
Ensure that we get the platform we need: Lead user processes (teachers/editors/students), coordinate technology and developers, and coordinate processes across stakeholders.
Materials: Update, customize, develop
Plan and carry out ongoing deliveries, test in schools, ensure curriculum anchoring, and publish on the portal.
Implementation and reporting
Follow up on timelines, resources, and quality, as well as ensure regular reporting.
Ad hoc tasks
Who are you?
We imagine that you are either a teacher/professionally trained, possibly with relevant further education, or you are academically educated (e.g., in IT/digitalization or another relevant field) and have worked closely with school practice and teaching materials.
We expect that you have:
Project management experience – preferably from edtech/learning portals or similar. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing projects across organizations, cultures, and disciplines. Experience as a bridge builder between technology and didactics: You can discuss login, structure, search/metadata, and backend, and translate that into solutions that make sense in teaching. You can work independently, but are primarily strong in building relationships and can collaborate with everyone. It is expected that you have an understanding of the context of the Greenlandic primary school. Bilingualism (Danish/Greenlandic) is preferred, English is an advantage.
Framework for the position
You will be part of a joint municipal, virtual secretariat with close partners across the country. Employment type and duration: Fixed-term until February 28, 2030. Start as soon as possible/according to agreement. Workplace: Flexible; significant travel activity should be expected. Housing cannot be provided. Salary and conditions: According to applicable agreements between Naalakkersuisut and the relevant collective agreement party. Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting the head of the Kivitsisa secretariat, Rune Nydam Bundgaard, phone (+299) 594455 or email rune@kivitsisa.gl. Applications with copies of relevant diplomas, references, CV, criminal record, and references should be submitted.
