We are looking for a nurse with special responsibility in education and development for our surgical department K2. The position involves a 50/50 split between clinical work and development tasks. You will play a central role in ensuring high quality in patient care and the learning environment.
Education and Development Responsible Nurse

The position is 40 hours/week with reduced on-call burden. The intention is that the distribution between clinical work and education and development tasks is 50/50.

Your role
As a nurse with special responsibility in education and development, you will be a central driving force in the department's professional development. You will work closely with management, colleagues, and educational institutions and play a crucial role in ensuring high quality in both patient care and learning environment.
You will be a link, initiator, and sparring partner – and have the opportunity to leave your clear mark on both practice and development.
Your tasks
You will among other things:
- Identify and work on improvements in patient pathways and documentation processes
- Develop, implement, and update instructions, guidelines, and patient materials
- Contribute to the work with adverse events and quality improvements
- Train staff in improvement methods and use of improvement boards
- Coordinate collaboration with educational institutions
- Ensure good pathways for students and pupils – including guidance and structure
- Plan and facilitate teaching, reflection, and competence development
- Participate in audits, development projects, and cross-disciplinary collaborations
- Communicate and implement relevant research in clinical practice
- Support onboarding and introduction of new staff
We expect you to:
- Be a trained nurse – preferably with an academic degree
- Work independently and have strong collaboration skills
- Be development-oriented and see opportunities in changes

- Have an approachable and constructive approach
- Be able to create an overview and work purposefully
- Have strong relational and communicative competencies
- Take initiative and drive development initiatives in clinical practice
About department K2
K2 is a dynamic surgical department with 18 beds. We primarily work with parenchymal surgery and urology and receive patients from all over the country – both planned, subacute, and acute pathways.
With us, patient pathways range from short admissions to complex and longer-lasting pathways. We also work with palliative patients, where holistic care, creativity, and patient involvement are at the center.
The department also houses a specialized stoma outpatient clinic.

Salary and employment
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that employment is conditional on a valid residence and work permit. Residence and work permits can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
