We are looking for a flexible and resilient candidate with experience working with youth.
GUX Nuuk is looking for a psychotherapist. Do you enjoy working with young people and are you passionate about helping more young people obtain a high school education? Then you might be the one we are looking for.
At Qeqqani Ilinniarnertunngorniarfik/GUX Nuuk, there is a full-time position available as a psychotherapist as of February 1, 2026, or by agreement.
GUX Nuuk is Greenland's largest high school and has approximately 500 students in 8 tracks across three grades for the new school year, taught by about 50 teachers and around 15 teaching assistants. Our students have very different academic and social conditions but share a common dream of graduating.
Two colleges are affiliated with the high school, and the recruitment area extends from Tasiilaq in the east to Paamiut in the southwest, although the vast majority of students come from Nuuk. At GUX Nuuk, we work with second language pedagogy and culture-based teaching, placing students at the center of the high school's work.

As a psychotherapist, you will become an important part of the school's overall effort to promote a safe and developing learning environment where students thrive and develop both academically, personally, and socially. As a student coach, you will work closely with the school's management, the two other student coaches, social workers at the dormitory, and advisors. The group engages in a collaborative effort, focusing on students' well-being and retention, especially concerning those students who need special support in completing their high school education.

-
Be part of the high school's crisis preparedness.
-
We expect: That you are a trained psychotherapist.
-
That you have experience with young people aged 15-25 years.
-
That you are committed to close collaboration with the other employees and management, where we focus on taking concrete action on the daily challenges.
-
That you are flexible, resilient, reliable, and adaptable.
-
That you are prepared to help students build resilience, social skills, and the ability to see themselves in interaction with others.
-
That you are prepared to work with students who may need pedagogical clarity, firm boundaries, and a safe adult to lean on.
-
That you are committed to community, respect, shared responsibility, and professionalism is something that is reflected in your dialogue with the students – and is part of GUX Nuuk's values.
-
We offer: A high school where students and their well-being are at the center.
