The work includes parent groups, home visits, consultations, health talks, education, and child examinations. Focus on early intervention and vulnerable families. Unique opportunity as a Health Visitor – Upernavik and Qaanaaq Health Center is seeking 1 Health Visitor, with the position shared between the 2 health centers and their villages.
The position will be in close collaboration with our permanent Health Care Assistants at the health centers, who know the towns and their children and families.
We offer a position from February 1, 2026 - April 1, 2026 and from August 15, 2026 - November 15, 2026.
The job
We offer a versatile position where you will be able to take on many exciting tasks and challenges within various activities ranging from parent groups, home visits, consultations at the hospital clinic, health conversations with school children, teaching, and visits to day care institutions. Similarly, the health care service conducts child examinations and vaccinations according to the Greenlandic program.
We focus on early intervention and vulnerable families, where interdisciplinary collaboration has been established with the respective agencies.
The position is 40 hours per week.

Upernavik
Is beautifully located against a mountain and one of the northernmost towns in Greenland. About 3000 inhabitants live here, distributed in the town of Upernavik and the associated settlements. The town is special with its nine settlements, which means that most of the residents in the area live in the settlements.

In the summer months, fishing, whale watching, and sailing trips are popular. From May to August, you can also experience the midnight sun.
Qaanaaq
Qaanaaq is Greenland's northernmost town with polar nights in winter and 24-hour sunlight in summer. Here you will experience a very special culture and community far from everything else. Dog sledding and the northern lights are part of everyday life in winter, while sailing, hiking, and icebergs are your everyday life in summer.

Housing is allocated according to the rules applicable in the Greenlandic Health Service at any given time.
Salary and employment
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Citizenship
If you are not a Nordic citizen, please note that the employment is conditional upon a valid residence and work permit. A residence and work permit can only be applied for upon agreed employment.
