The Social Authority is seeking a competent and professionally skilled person for the position of director at the residential facility Ivaaraq, starting on June 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The Children's Angersimaffiat Ivaaraq is a nationwide 24-hour service for citizens with multiple disabilities, designed for 15 residents distributed across 2 departments.
The round-the-clock service is located in Qaqortoq – a very beautiful town surrounded by lovely nature. The staff group has experience in the field. Ivaaraq is a lively, different, and exciting workplace, with a focus on development.
A little about Ivaaraq
Ivaaraq consists of two departments: The Yellow Department is designated for 5 residents who need significant support for all daily tasks. In the Blue Department, there are 10 residents who are more self-sufficient. Additionally, there is Orpigaq, which is an employment offer for the residents. A total of 39 staff members are designated in Ivaaraq.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Criminal and child certificate
The Social Authority reserves the right to obtain a criminal record and a child protection certificate. We therefore point out that the employment can only take effect once the Social Authority has received a satisfactory child protection certificate from the National Police as well as a criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the Social Agency with written consent from the individual, while the criminal record must be obtained by the individual themselves through the Police.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
