Nunatta Katersugaasivia Allagaateqarfialu (hereafter NKA) is seeking an academic
employee as archivist to be hired as soon as possible or later
further agreement.
The archivist will work to fulfill the purpose clause in the Inatsisartut Act on archival services.
through the following tasks:
Development and implementation of a strategy for managing archives from public entities.

Receive and process submissions from both public institutions and private entities.
- Prepare information and guidance materials.
- Conduct supervision of documentation and archiving practices in public institutions and
authorities.
- Develop preservation and disposal plans.
Guided public institutions and authorities, and answered routine
inquiries about archiving and archive conditions.
The archivist is responsible for the special area 'Greenland's cultural history and education'. This
The special area includes the following tasks:
Guided researchers and others who wish to use the archive's collections within
the archivist's special area.
Response to routine inquiries from users.
- Conduct research in the special area, primarily based on the archive's and museum's
collections. For this work, the archivist has 2/7 of their total working time at their disposal,
excluding the availability hours.
Communication of collections and research, including in larger communication projects in
collaboration with the other archivists and inspectors of the NKA.
- To develop a strategy for the collection, registration, and accessibility of
the special area.
We are looking for you who:
Has in-depth knowledge of Greenlandic societal conditions, Greenland's history and
culture.
Has a relevant education in the humanities or social sciences.
educations at least at BA level, other similar qualifications may be considered
- Is Greenlandic-speaking and can formulate Danish and English in writing and speech.
- Is familiar with public administration and societal conditions, particularly in relation to
public administration.
Furthermore, we would like you to:
- Has experience with authority-facing work as well as case processing.
- Has experience with journaling and archiving.
- Has knowledge of the Archives Act and the work with the provisions of the Archives Act as well as others
relevant legislation such as the Public Access to Information Act, the Personal Data Act, etc.
Can work independently and is good at collaborating with others.

About Nunatta Allagaateqarfia
Nunatta Allagaateqarfia today constitutes a unified institution at Nunatta Katersugaasivia.
Allagaateqarfialu (NKA).
Nunatta Allagaateqarfia has 2 departments with employees located at the university and
the research park Ilimmarfik, where the headquarters is located. As well as the Building and Construction Archive
located at a separate address at Paassaasivik 10.
There are 6-7 employees working daily in the archive's departments. In addition, there are 1-2
student assistants.
Nunatta Allagaateqarfia is Greenland's only and comprehensive archive service.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
