The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking an office assistant for Pilersitsivik Paamiut, a program similar to a production school for young people aged 18-25. The position involves guiding students and various office tasks. Applicants are expected to uphold values such as professionalism, community perspective, and holistic understanding. Start date is April 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The Municipality of Sermersooq will offer a production school-like program in Paamiut in collaboration with the Maritime School, called Pilersitsivik Paamiut, starting from January 15, 2025. This is part of efforts to strengthen work around youth. The target group for the initiative is primarily aged 18-25 years. Pilersitsivik will be a program under Majoriaq, and the initiative may provide credits for education in areas including the maritime field. Pilersitsivik Paamiut is for citizens of the Municipality. The officer will guide students in Pilersitsivik, Majoriaq, and the Maritime School, as well as various office tasks.

You will therefore work as an associate/advisor in Pilersitsvik, which aims to create a workforce in line with societal development and the resulting demand.
We are therefore looking for an officer/advisor for Pilersitsivik Paamiut who will be at the Imarsiornermik Ilinniarfiks office starting April 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The purpose of Pilersitsivik Paamiut:
To provide an activation offer that is tailored to the conditions in Paamiut (linguistically and in terms of resources) as well as the individual needs of the youth,
A process that is based on work, structure in everyday life, practical experiences, and creativity,
To create a place where young people can try out different fields of study,
To improve the opportunities for young people in the education system and in the regular labor market.

To support young people in personal and professional development and maturation.
To work constructively and purposefully to motivate the young and strengthen their strengths.
To create a safe and inspiring environment
To prepare students for education or the labor market.
The target audience:
Young people between 18 to 25 years old
Young people who have not started education or have discontinued education
Young people who are in an uncertain situation
Young people who are skilled in craftsmanship and technology and have an interest in the hunting and fishing industry.
Young people who are not ready for work or education due to personal, social, or health reasons.
Primary work and responsibilities:
To receive new students and be the daily supervisor for young people in the office.
·To register attendance and supervise the young people
To train, guide, and motivate the youth in accordance with their individual needs and the overall goals of the workshop.
·To be the young people's supervisor in the office
To communicate with the young people's parents, staff in institutions, management in Majoriaq, etc.
·To handle contact with the workshop's partners
·To collaborate with other employees at Pilersitsivik and Imarsiornermik Ilinniarfik on planning regarding the youth and the daily operations of Pilersitsivik.

Qualifications and personal profile:
When selecting applicants for the position, particular emphasis is placed on

·That you have an office education or another relevant education and have experience.
That you are patient, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
·That you have a collaborative and approachable nature
·That you maintain calm and perspective in pressured situations
That you are able to teach others.
·That you have experience – both privately and professionally – that enables you to "spot" the young people and communicate with them in a friendly, principled, and trust-building manner.
·That you do not have substance abuse problems with alcohol or hash.
That you are Greenlandic-speaking

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
