Health Assistant or Nurse

Disability and social psychiatry is looking for a caring healthcare assistant or nurse for the residential unit Pakkutaq located in Nuuk. If you want to make a difference for our residents, you are exactly the person we need as our new colleague.

The position is a full-time job of 40 hours a week with working hours on weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM.

The residential unit Pakkutaq has space for 12 residents aged 18-67 with physical or mental disabilities. Your core task will be to help each resident maintain and develop their physical, mental, and social skills. Together with your dedicated colleagues, you will support the resident in maintaining and developing their identity, self-esteem, and joy of life. As a health assistant/nurse, you will be part of our multicultural team and serve as the contact person for the citizen. You will be jointly responsible for supporting citizens in their interactions with partners such as: the healthcare system, district psychiatry, physiotherapists and occupational therapists in the municipality, as well as the citizen's caseworker.

• Is trained as a healthcare assistant or nurse.
• Preferably Greenlandic and Danish speaking, but not a requirement.

Your tasks:

• Plan, organize, and participate in daily work tasks in collaboration with the other staff.
• Medical responsible
• Development of the housing unit's offerings for residents in collaboration with the manager and the other staff.
• Maintain and further develop a high level of health professionalism.

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, five living collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support teams located in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Criminal record:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
