The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Consultant – either as a generalist or with experience in business and/or entrepreneurship. The position is to be filled as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.

The purpose of the position is to strengthen Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq's efforts in local business development in Paamiut and Tasiilaq through close dialogue with businesses, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders. The business consultant will act as a link between political ambitions and concrete business-oriented initiatives that create growth, collaboration, and sustainable development in the local communities.

The position is organizationally anchored in the department of Maritime Business & Business Forum, which falls under Business, Facility & Procurement in the Internal Service administration, and reports to Department Head Salik Damgaard.

The position is located in Nuuk with the expectation of regular work stays and close collaboration with stakeholders in Tasiilaq and Paamiut.

The content of the position:

We are looking for a Business Consultant who can handle a range of tasks including:

• The secretariat function for the business councils in Paamiut and Tasiilaq
• Establish and operate local business and entrepreneurship networks in Tasiilaq and Paamiut.
• Advise local businesses and entrepreneurs on opportunities, support schemes, and business development.
• Support the Business Department's initiatives in the business and tourism sector in Paamiut, in close collaboration with the Tourism Consultant for Paamiut.
• Support the Business Department's initiatives in the business and tourism sector in Tasiilaq and surrounding settlements, in close collaboration with the Tourism Coordinator for East Greenland.
• Organize workshops, networking meetings, and theme days
• Various ad-hoc tasks

The tasks are solved in close collaboration with external stakeholders as well as the department head for Maritime Business & Business Forum.

Your profile:

We are looking for a Business Consultant who has the right attitude and is good at collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you have:

• Good communication skills
• Sparring is your natural ability.
• Is sharp with numbers
• Is structured and analytical
• Can work independently, results-oriented, and within set deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to create partnerships across stakeholders
• A proactive and results-oriented approach that can translate strategies into action.
• Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Professional background: You have a relevant higher education in economics, social sciences, or similar – preferably supplemented with experience in project management or business development.

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
