Are you passionate about creating the best conditions for our elderly and citizens with disabilities? Do you want to take the lead and manage a dedicated team of 6 caseworkers in a department where high professionalism and interdisciplinary collaboration are paramount? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

As the department head in the Authority area for the Elderly & Disability in Sisimiut, you step into a meaningful position where you have a direct impact on the quality of life of the citizens.

About the department and your new team You will be the leader of an important department, which is staffed for 7 positions, where you will be responsible for 3 disability caseworkers and 3 early retirement and elderly caseworkers. You will also have a central role as the person responsible for the early retirement and assessment committees, where you ensure the high professional quality of the cases before they are passed on for political decision.

You will be part of the overall Welfare Area, which houses about 30 dedicated employees across authorities and decentralized units. We have a strong, interdisciplinary collaboration with both residential units, the Children and Family Department, the Health Service, and our rural offices.

  • Participate in the voting on pension benefits and daily rate payments.
  • Management control, budget follow-up, analysis, and preparation of budget proposals

  • You have an open, approachable, and visible leadership style.
  • You are good at making decisions and understand how to motivate your team in a busy everyday life.
