DIKP is seeking a kitchen manager for the Integrated Municipal Care Scheme in Aasiaat. The position requires experience from large kitchens and responsibility for personnel and administrative tasks. The kitchen manager must ensure nutritious meals for residents and meal clients while developing food services in collaboration with care staff.
"DIKP" The Integrated Municipal Care Scheme, which includes both Elderly and Care Homes and Home Help, is seeking a kitchen manager who is trained as a nutrition assistant, housekeeper, cook, or kitchen manager/kitchen assistant, possibly trained as a young cook or food service assistant with extensive experience working in large kitchens/institutional kitchens, including handling personnel tasks as well as administrative tasks.
The kitchen is responsible for serving 35 residents of the nursing and care home and 1 respite client, as well as approximately 20 meal clients in the city.

There are 10 staff in the kitchen, 3 kitchen apprentices, as well as an acting kitchen manager and a sous chef.
Areas of responsibility and primary tasks:
The kitchen manager is responsible for the daily management of all tasks related to the kitchen area, including staff; your immediate supervisor will be the headmistress:
-Plan, delegate, prepare, and ensure quality regarding the catering of residents in ADH as well as dietary clients under Home Care.
-Continuously and for all meals ensure a sufficient, i.e., nutritionally correct, appropriate, and varied diet catering to the individual resident's/nutrition client's needs.
-Continuously ensure the development of the dietary services area in interdisciplinary collaboration with users and care staff.
-Management of the food budget- in consultation with the Principal
-Ensure orders and administration of food items as well as other goods related to the kitchen area in consultation with the Headmaster.
-Ensure optimal hygiene standards, cleaning and maintenance of materials, etc. in the kitchen and storage areas with freezers and food items, etc.
-Preparation of menu plans, separate dietary plans
-Organize, plan, and coordinate work tasks related to the kitchen area, as well as the preparation of duty schedules.
-Teaching, guidance, and development of staff and students

You should enjoy a busy workday, supplemented by "on-call duty" - (= 24-hour standby from home with call-out)
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, shall be determined in accordance with the agreement or collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing:
A staff housing option can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current regulations for rent payments in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If a permanent staff residence cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant residence will be offered a temporary vacant residence, for which A-tax will be paid for free benefits in accordance with applicable legislation.
OR The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. Relocation travel and moving of household goods will be provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
A staff apartment must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
