The Municipality of Qeqertalik Aasiaat is seeking a social worker/case handler for old age pensions. Responsibilities include processing pension applications, advising on old age pension cases, and preparing applications for support measures. Qualifications include experience with elderly citizens and knowledge of pension legislation.
The Municipality of Qeqertalik Aasiaat is seeking a Social Worker/Case Manager for old-age pensions. The position is desired to be filled by April 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
Work and areas of responsibility will include:

Processing and assessment of applications for pension and supplements.

Reception and processing of inquiries as well as advice on old-age pension matters.

Make decisions in accordance with applicable legislation.

Ensure correct record-keeping

Guidance and case processing in age pension matters in accordance with social legislation and applicable guidelines.

Preparation of applications to the interdisciplinary committee and the social and care committee regarding support measures.
Qualifications:

Educated social worker or with another relevant educational background.

Experience in advising and supporting elderly citizens in accordance with applicable pension legislation.

Knowledge of the use of computers and relevant work tools.

You have experience with the target group and contribute with high professionalism, independence, and good collaboration skills.

Psychological resilience is a requirement to hold the position.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the negotiating organization.
Housing:
A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the current rules for rent payment in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent accommodation cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant residence will be offered a temporary vacant residence, for which A-tax will be paid for benefits in kind in accordance with applicable legislation.
OR The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving of household goods will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.
A staff residence must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
Criminal record:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received consent from the applicant, and when these have been obtained from the National Police.
