We are looking for a social worker for the 24/7 and Admissions Department at the Social Agency. The position involves admissions to residential institutions and 24/7 services as well as advising municipal caseworkers. You should have experience with case handling and knowledge of social work and legislation.

The Social Authority falls under the Ministry of Children, Youth and Families and the following 5 departments: Paarisa, the Day and Referral Department, the Department for Advice to Caseworkers, the Finance Department, and the Secretariat. The departments work closely together, and it is a workplace that offers plenty of professional challenges.
About the position:
We are looking for a social worker who can work as a Visitor in the Day and Visitations Department, who has experience with case management in the municipality and has knowledge of social work and legislation.
The Day and Admission Department is responsible for admissions to residential institutions and round-the-clock services, as well as providing advice and guidance to municipal caseworkers and staff at residential institutions and round-the-clock services.
The department operates a central referral system and is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and operation of the Self-Government's nationwide residential institutions and round-the-clock services for children, young people, and adults in the social and disability sectors. In addition, the department works on the development, implementation, and quality assurance of new initiatives as well as the upgrading of leaders and staff at residential institutions and round-the-clock services with the aim of strengthening the quality of the efforts.
As a Visitor, your primary tasks will be to refer citizens to relevant residential institutions and round-the-clock services, as well as to provide advice and guidance to municipalities regarding placements outside the home for vulnerable children and young people and individuals with disabilities. You contribute to strengthening the legal and social professional quality in case processing and support a consistent and professionally grounded practice across municipalities.
Work tasks/areas:

Purpose descriptions and service declarations regarding self-governing residential institutions.

Involved in developing new initiatives in the 24-hour care sector.

Assist in the preparation of guidelines and procedures regarding placement cases and referrals.

Involved in facilitating at the principal seminar.

Trained social worker.

In-depth knowledge of case processing and social legislation.

Has experience in the social sector.

Is well-founded in writing/orally, both Greenlandic and Danish.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be allocated for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be allocated to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the allocated housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets, such as dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.

September 1, 2026, or after further agreement.
