The Social Authority is seeking a department head for the Paarisa unit, who will participate in the work of the Department for Children, Young People, Families, and Domestic Affairs' existing department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring (ATM).

Paarisa works with initiatives and projects across social and health professional areas. We develop initiatives in partnerships across sectors and with respect for local needs.

As the office manager, you will play a central role in leading and developing Paarisa. It is important that you find the area of work exciting – but even more important is that you can be a leader who creates good relationships with employees and ensures ongoing well-being together with them. We emphasize a work culture where employees experience engagement, respect, and support, and where you as a leader contribute to well-being and development in everyday life. As the office manager for Paarisa, you will report directly to the department head for cross-cutting projects and monitoring.

About the position

The tasks include, among other things:

  • To lead the unit Paarisa, which consists of 16 employees working on various initiatives within the social and health sector.
  • To manage personnel matters and ensure a visible, trustworthy, and development-oriented leadership.
  • To engage in close collaboration with the department head for Cross-Project and Monitoring.
  • To coordinate and follow up on initiatives, projects, and political priorities within the unit's areas.
  • To ensure that Paarisa's work supports the department's overall goals and contributes to solid decision-making foundations.
  • Secretary at meetings led by the department head.
  • Response to inquiries and preparation of notes in agreement with the department head.
  • Responsibility for case processing of ongoing tasks and coordination of projects.
  • Ad hoc tasks carried out independently or in collaboration with the department's other divisions.

We are looking for a person who:

  • Has a relevant academic education at the master's level.
  • Can maintain an overview in an often busy everyday life.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge about health promotion and prevention is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Experience in management is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Can work independently, structured, and development-oriented.
  • Can communicate in writing and verbally – in Greenlandic and Danish.
  • Can create an overview of many and complex information.
  • Is good at collaborating with colleagues and external partners and stakeholders.

Paarisa works with health promotion initiatives and prevention across social and health professional areas. Our approach is based on dialogue with the local community and the development of initiatives in partnerships that create meaningful and sustainable solutions.

After a possible merger with the Social Agency, Paarisa will be organizationally placed together with the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring (ATM), which falls under the Ministry of Children, Youth, Families, and Interior Affairs. The future organization of the ministry and the agency is still under development.

Would you like to help set the direction for health promotion and prevention in Greenland in collaboration with the department head – while also being a visible leader who fosters well-being and development for the employees in Paarisa? Then this position as office manager is for you.
