About SISA Pension
SISA is a Greenlandic member-owned pension fund whose mission is to provide attractive pension schemes to organizations and businesses in Greenland with the best possible return and the lowest possible risk. SISA was established in 1999 as a Greenlandic pension fund based in Nuuk. From here, SISA serves its members in Greenlandic, Danish, and English. SISA has approximately 45,000 members, of which just over half are actively contributing. The company receives around 500 million DKK in pension contributions annually and manages a pension fortune of 7.4 billion kroner.
SISA's daily operations are largely outsourced to various partners. The organization is currently structured around the office in Nuuk and a team in Gentofte. The organization in Nuuk consists of six colleagues in Member Services and one colleague in the Board Secretariat.
In Gentofte, a smaller team sits together with the CEO and works on the development of the pension fund as well as the management of the pension fund's strategic outsourcing partners.
About the Job
Your permanent workplace is in Nuuk. You will receive a thorough introduction to the job while also starting your training program at the Insurance Academy in Rungsted. Here, you will follow a training program that takes place both in Denmark and at work in Nuuk.
During the education, you will be part of a team where tasks are performed that can directly relate to the theoretical educational program. The more theoretical knowledge you acquire, the more professionally challenging tasks you will be assigned.
The goal is that over approximately 4 years you complete the entire education as a "Certified Customer Service Representative, Life & Pension," i.e., the Insurance Academy's levels 3 and 4 (read more about this at www.forsikringsakademiet.dk/). Once you have completed your education, you will remain employed at SISA.
In the long term – adjusted according to your overall theoretical education – you will among other things work with the following:
-
Serve businesses and collective agreement parties in Greenland
-
Serve members and hold meetings about pensions, both physical and digital meetings.
-
Create pension agreements and insurance coverage in the IT system.
-
Assess health information.
-
Register and manage declarations of benefit.
-
Handle payments.
-
Follow up with employers regarding payments.
-
Implement changes to existing agreements.
-
Conduct claims handling (death, certain critical illnesses, loss of earning capacity, and retirement).
-
Pay out damages.
-
Handle transfers to/from other pension providers.
About you
Since the Insurance Academy only offers education related to Danish conditions, the Greenlandic conditions must be learned on the job in Greenland. Therefore, your ability to translate Danish knowledge into Greenlandic conditions will be crucial.
We expect you to be bilingual (Greenlandic/Danish), and thus able to communicate with customers in both languages. It would be an advantage if you can also communicate in English. We envision that you, as a person, are independent and structured and have a good analytical sense, including the ability to put things in a different perspective. You are likely also a curious and eager-to-learn person who can critically engage with things and challenge the knowledge you are presented with. A degree of economic and/or legal insight/understanding would be an advantage but is absolutely not a requirement.
Finally, you as a person are open, trustworthy, stable, and service-minded, and you are good at creating positive relationships. You are motivated by achieving results, and you engage actively in teamwork to reach common goals.
SISA offers
SISA offers a job and a paid education in one complete package – with plenty of professional and personal challenges, skilled colleagues, and many inspiring interfaces to Greenlandic society. Furthermore, it is a job with attractive conditions and competitive pay based on qualifications.
As a rule, the job does not come with housing.
