Do you want to help shape Greenland's nature management?
Are you interested in working with biodiversity and nature conservation – and contributing to solutions with direct significance for the country? Then you might be our new colleague in the Nature Department!
About the position
As a colleague in the Nature Department, you will be part of the work to develop and implement Greenland's nature management and ensure coherence between national efforts and international collaborations. You will thus help to highlight how our priorities can contribute to solutions both for our citizens and across borders, and how global decisions affect Greenland's nature.
The position is largely characterized by classic civil service work with a focus on case processing and operations (about 75%) combined with professional development tasks (about 25%). You will be responsible for your own areas of casework and will work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues.
The work is predominantly office-based and involves limited travel activity. The focus of the position is on stable operations, regulatory tasks, and ensuring progress in specific cases to a greater extent than on development projects.
Your tasks
You will receive a diverse portfolio of tasks. Depending on your professional profile, you will have your own areas of responsibility and contribute to your colleagues' tasks in various case areas. This may include:

Manage protected areas, including national parks, Ramsar sites, and the UNESCO site Ilulissat Icefjord.

As an AC officer, you will primarily work with independent case processing within defined areas and contribute to the department's task resolution and development in close collaboration with colleagues.
-
As a special consultant, you are expected to manage your own case areas, handle complex issues, and contribute to coordination as well as professional sparring across the department. You typically have 5-10+ years of experience, work with high independence and authority, and advise management and set direction.
-
Has a relevant higher education in natural sciences
-
Has experience with natural resource management, preferably from a public organization – for the special consultant level, solid experience with complex cases and/or coordination is expected.
